Many things contribute to a person’s identity: different beliefs and values due to our different backgrounds and upbringings. People belong to different groups and these groups help to make us who we are. It is important for everyone to feel valued and have a sense of belonging.

If we attach labels to people, we should always be prepared to leave space to know more.

Disasters and emergencies happen all over the world but some people and places are
more vulnerable than others.

People may have to live in situations and places that are more vulnerable to disaster and
to the effects of disaster because of poverty.

education, food and water and healthcare and under similar circumstances these effects
may be worse in some settlements than in others.
